dairy of a gazan resident

December 28, 2008

**disclaimer**

the link posted is about the recent gazan attacks thru the eyes of a Palestinian girl.  what your going to read is very graphic and probably will mentally disturb you for a long time.

I’m speechless.  What state has our ummah come to? Why are we just partying our lives away? why are we living such selfish, self-centered lives? why is it always about me, me, me, and me? what about our families, our community, and our ummah at large?

“The believers, in their love, mutual kindness, and close ties, are like one body; when any part complains, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.” [Muslim]

WHERE IS OUR FEVER?  how can we, after this happened go back and live normal lives? The least we can do is make du’a. pls remember our ummah in your prayers.

My little prince

March 19, 2008

I’ll never forget the first time I layed  my eyes on him. Sleeping in a crib at his right side..all wrapped up in blue..like he didnt’t have a care in this world (apart from sleeping, being fed, and getting his diapers changed lol). He’s adorable masha’Allah. He didnt get my complexion, no. He’s red, but looks different every day. His hands are fair, and his face is ok. Um, why am I going on about his complexion? Well, you know if you happen to belong to the subcontinent, lol. He’s 14 days old now masha’Allah and looks a lot chubby-er. My sister is alright alhamdulillah, she’s worried about losing all the pregnancy weight lol. I really don’t get time to spend w/ my nephew as much as I would like to,  my exams are around the corner, and I am so not ready :(

p.s –> as promised insha’Allah i’ll post the baby’s pics soon, I’ve them on my phone, but just cant find the time to transfer them into my laptop.

Salaam all. Okay, I really wanted to blog about a lot of things. But I’ve been so busy plus the stuff I wanna write on is kinda personal. So I’m trying to switch over to wordpress. I actually created an account, but silly me forgot the password lol…got a class in 15 min..sigh. gotta dash.

January 23, 2008

I ended abruptly in the last post b/c my mom was pressuring me to get off the laptop. hm, so I’ve been thinking of switching over to wordpress. There are a couple of stuff I want to blog about and I wouldn’t want the whole world reading them. Password protected posts is the answer: ) That’s gonna take some time. ..I hope I can figure out the whole technical part of it though..so no blogging until then.

‘Umrah post contd.

January 19, 2008

I’ve been meaning to add more to this post.
Bismillah. I’m not much of a shopping person. I only shop when I need something. I absolutely hate hanging around lookin’ at stuff when I know I’m not gonna buy them. But in Makkah? subhanAllah, I LOVE shopping. This time I bought beautiful bracelets for my aunts and a friend worth 10 saudi riyals. I kept debating whether I should buy one for myself ( they were really cool masha’Allah, multicolored with silver background), but in the end I decided not to. B/c I didn’t have my own money! I wanted to kick myself for being so stupid. how could I forget to bring along my change? It didn’t feel good asking dad to pay. Well, I did buy a handbag for myself worth 10 riyals again. and I absolutely love it. The fact that it was purchased from one of the shops near the haram makes it stand out from the rest of my purse collection ( I don’t have that many, most of them are gifts).
Oh and the food is really delicious. Sigh, there’s no place like haramain. insha’Allah we’re planning to make it for hajj this year. may Allah accept it..Ameen,

Awesome weather

January 13, 2008

The weather is so awesome subhanAllah. Me, my mom, and sister walked home all the way from the masjid (it’s only 6-7 min away). Check this link out. I’m planning to go to the nearby park tomorrow and have lunch there insha’Allah. Hope I get to take some cool pics :)

Qatif Girl Pardoned Alhamdulillah

December 17, 2007

Seems like the king of saudi ‘pardoned’ the girl. According to him she is still guilty though. Guilty of being alone in a car with an unrelated male. Please check this article out by islamtoday. It makes so much sense. I just don’t get it. How come *unrelated* male chauffeurs of saudi women don’t count as non-mahrams?! subhanAllah there’s so much hypocrisy and double standards involved..

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia : Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has pardoned the 20-year-old Saudi rape victim known as Qatif girl after a court sentenced her to 200 lashes and six months in prison, according to Justice Minister Abdullah Al-Asheikh.

An informed source told Arab News that the charges against the rape victim and lawyer Abdul Rahman Al-Lahem filed by a state prosecutor are dropped, adding that the lawyer will receive his confiscated law license after Haj holidays.

A year-and-a-half ago in the Eastern Province town of Qatif, seven men gang-raped a 19-year-old girl 14 times. Three judges from the Qatif General Court sentenced the rape victim to 90 lashes for being in the car of an unrelated male at the time of the rape.

The woman was charged with being in the company of an unrelated man shortly before she and her companion were kidnapped at knife-point and brutally gang-raped by the seven men.

According to her husband and her lawyer, the rape victim had met the male friend to receive some photos of her that he had from a relationship with her when she was 16. She contends that the man had initially threatened to distribute the pictures to shame her. click here for more.
